Parish Nursing Schedule of Events

 

September 2008: The Health Theme is the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer, outlined on our bulletin board.

·        “Walk to Bethlehem!” starts September 6th and 7th.   Purchase your pedometer after Mass this weekend, and get ready to exercise with family or friends.  Keep track of your miles, or minutes of exercise, and help us track the distance to Bethlehem, this year’s goal.  Weekly prayer intentions will also provide spiritual exercise.  Miles can be turned in by e-mail.  We have fun prizes for those who keep going through the twelve week program.  Call Parish Nursing @ 888-1182 ext. 3008.

·        The first Light Weigh class starts September 8th, in room 109 at

·        7 PM.  Call Michelle at 884-1322 for information.

·        Yoga classes begin Monday and Thursday mornings at 10 AM, also starting September 8th.  Call Hope Ryan at 475-4594. 

·        Parish Nursing meeting, September 10th at 7 PM in the library.

·        Healing Mass  September 17th, with Anointing of the Sick and individual prayer.  All are welcome to this beautiful experience.

·        Blood Pressures  Sept. 20th & 21st, after Mass, in the library.

October 2008:  The Health Theme:  Screening, Prevention and Treatment of Breast Cancer.

·        Parish Nurses Planning Meeting is October 8th, at 7 PM, in the library.  RN’s looking for a meaningful way to become involved, are welcome to attend.

·        St. Alphonsus Mobile Mammography on site October 17th for breast cancer digital screening, and Bone Density Tests, from        9 AM to 3:30 PM.  Your insurance can be billed for the cost.  Sign up by October 13th, with Connie at Parish Nursing: 888-1182 ext. 3008.

·        Blood Pressure Screening  the weekend of October 18th & 19th, after each Mass in the library.

November 2008: The Health Theme: How Tobacco Use affects Our Health.

·        November 2nd Flu Shot clinic Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

·        Basic Parish Nurse Training Course  November 6th to 9th.  Contact Parish Nursing for information at 888-1182 ext. 3008.

·        November 12th  Parish Nursing Meeting in the library at 7 PM.

·        Blood Pressure Screening the weekend of November 15th and 16th.
